Roundelay: Statistics

This page contains the statistics for every public performance of Alan Ayckbourn’s play Roundelay during 2014. The play has five parts (The Agent, The Judge, The Novelist, The Politician, The Star) and the order they are performed in is decided by a random public draw half-an-hour before the performance.
This list offers the chance to see how many of the possible 120 permutation of
Roundelay were performed and how many repeat permutations were performed during its original 2014 run.
The list includes: the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough (35 performances); the New Vic, Newcastle-under Lyme (19 performances); the Old Laundry Theatre, Bowness-on-Windemere (15 performances).

Note: Although the Stephen Joseph Theatre did tour the original production of Roundelay for four weeks in 2015, those details have not been added to the statistics above. This is because for certain venues, the company performed only four of the five plays each night and - without the playwright’s knowledge or approval - the stage management team had been instructed by the SJT management to fudge the result at - at least - one venue to ensure the four plays chosen always included The Judge.
